TL;DR: NoteThing does not collect, store, or share your personal data. Your notes, tasks, goals, and reminders live on your devices and (if you choose) in your own iCloud account — never on our servers.
NoteThing is designed from the ground up to respect your privacy. We do not operate any servers that store your content. The app contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers.
NoteThing does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
All of your content — notes, tasks, goals, reminders, folders, tags, and settings — is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud Sync, the same data is also stored in your private iCloud account so it can sync between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
iCloud is operated by Apple, not by us. We have no access to your iCloud account or its contents. When NoteThing syncs, it talks directly to Apple's CloudKit service using your iCloud credentials. Your data never passes through any server we control.
iCloud Sync is a feature you can turn on or off in NoteThing's settings at any time. When disabled, all your content remains exclusively on the device you're using. When enabled, your content is synced via Apple's iCloud service to your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
NoteThing schedules local notifications on your device for task due dates and reminders. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device by iOS and macOS — they do not pass through any remote server, and we never see them. You can grant or revoke notification permission at any time in your system settings.
NoteThing does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only network communication the app performs is with Apple's iCloud service (and only when you have iCloud Sync enabled).
This privacy policy describes the NoteThing app. The marketing website at notething.net uses Google Analytics to measure aggregate visitor traffic — page views, country-level location, and which type of device visited. No personally identifying information is collected, and analytics data from the website is never combined with any in-app activity (because the app has no analytics at all).
If you'd like to opt out of Google Analytics on this and other websites, you can install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
NoteThing is a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. Transactions are processed entirely by Apple — we do not have access to your payment information. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for information about how Apple handles your purchase data.
Because we do not collect any data, NoteThing is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this policy and the "Last Updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Because we don't collect any data about you, there is no data on our side to access, correct, or delete. You have complete control over your information at all times — you can delete the app, disable iCloud Sync, or wipe your data from within the app's settings.
